Following a spectacular display of both the RAF Red Arrows Display Team (brought to the regatta by Artemis Investment Management) racing for the final day of Lendy Cowes Week is expected to start on schedule.

Although many classes have completed their series and the overall Black Group winner decided, racing continues in earnest for the remaining classes, which include IRC 0-7, Cruiser Divisions A, B and C, Sigma 33, HP30, J/80, J/70 plus those yet to complete their series –  Sportsboats, SB20s, Etchells, Darings, Dragon, Sonar, Swallow, Redwing, Flying 15, Squib, Seaview Mermaid and XODs.

For first timers Lendy Cowes Week runs a single day of racing for those who are unfamiliar with big racing fleets. In a less-pressured environment, and a on a simple course, first timers can experience a taste of the action for a reduced entry fee of just £44.

Southerly winds will slowly rise from near calm conditions early this morning, as cloud cover associated with an approaching warm front increases. Wind speeds may struggle to rise above 5-7 knots much before midday but should reach 8-14 knots this afternoon.

All racing today will take place from the Royal Yacht Squadron line, with the start sequence running from 1010 to 1215.

Lendy Cowes Week activities continue round town all day with music at all main regatta venues including Cowes Parade, Cowes Yacht Haven and Shepards Marina. Given it is the final day, and the sun is shining, the High Street is expected to be busy once again. Northwood House is also expected to be busy with Afternoon Teas on the Eastern Lawn running from 1100-2200.

The concluding big social event of the day is the Lendy Cowes Week overall prize giving at Shepards Marina. The event starts at 1900 and everyone is welcome.
