All classes are now racing in a light northerly wind that’s backing into the north-west as a belt of rain that crossed the race area moves away. A combination of the light airs and strong tides are providing navigators with challenging tactical decisions on their race courses.

The first finishers among the White Group dayboats have already completed their races on the offshore Bramble line and are now sailing back into port. The Black Group yachts that had a committee boat start this morning will finish on the Breakwater line, approaching from the east. The finishing sequence here is expected to run from 1400 to a little after 1500.

However, the majority of Black Group classes will finish on the Royal Yacht Squadron line, approaching from the west under spinnaker. The first boats are expected here from 1315, with the tail enders likely to arrive a short time after 1500.
